Hakushu 12 Year Old - 100th Anniversary Limited Edition
To celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023, House of Suntory released this special Hakushu 12 Year Old bottling (among other limited-edition whiskies)! Inside you'll find the same whisky we know and love, a gently peated single malt with a distinctive herbaceousness, but the bottle has been adorned with a special label for the occasion. The illustration on the bottle captures the Hakushu distillery in green, representing the forest that surrounds it.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Toasted barley, seed & nut loaf, chopped almonds and a little bit of barrel char. Hints of milk chocolate and dried grass bring sweetness.
Palate
Much more fruit on the palate, but it's by no means a sweet whisky. Still rich, herbaceous and grassy, with a waft of smoke along the way.
Finish
Quite short, though enjoyable with orange peel and a touch of minerals.
