Haig Dimple 15 YO Bottling Note

Haig Dimple, or 'Dimple Pinch' as it's called in the US of A, recently popped up in everybody's favourite programme Breaking Bad! A blend with a high malt proportion, including whiskies from Glenkinchie and Linkwood.

"Dimple Pinch. Neat."

Haig Dimple 15 Year Old Reviews

Blast from the past

I’ve been drinking a dimple 15 yrs old from the early nineties, a lost treasury from my auntie. After inspecting the bottle for alcohol evaporation, incredibly none, i decided to open it. What a blast. I’ve been drinking as a liqueur, small sips, enjoying every ml. More floral than smoke, a hint of vanilla. Good, soft aftertaste. I found a prolonged finish, and i just wonder what a dimple 15 from nowadays would taste in comparison. Regards

Great drop.

My grandfather drank Dimple and what a strange bottle it was with wire around it and a peculiar shape in the 1960s. I have experimented with probably hundreds of whiskeys but my benchmark is now Dimple 15. It kills other blends - it is the best blend and beats even expensive drops and has a distinctive taste placing it as my go-to/go-back to after excursions into single malts now and then. It is hard to beat on taste - a little bite, a little smoke, warmth, sweet and clear finish....all-rounder. I raise a glass to my grandfather often.

Great memories...

Over 55 years ago, once I had started work, Dimple Haig was the great treat I would try to buy for my father’s birthday. He loved it - a major treat...

Made a Scotch drinker out of me

The only blend that I will drink. Soft and smooth, sweet and floral with just the right amount of smoke.

От десетина години пия Dimple!?
Промяната е очевидна...вече е все така меко , пивко , баз вкус и аромат...празната чаша не остава мирис на нищо...
Вече не го и купувам, приятели ме черпят но уви...само името му остана!?

Good stuff

First time buyer too. Always read about it and seen it in bars. Gentle yet spicy, and I'm in line with most of the reviewers here. Solid three and a half stars. Won't change your life, but it's good. A whole lot better than big house blends. With malts I drink Balvenie 15 and Glenfiddich 12 and sometimes Bunnahabhain. Like Grants for blended, go figure.

Old Dad's whiskey

This was my dad's whiskey as I recall growing up. Never gave it a try in the 20+ years I've been drinking Scotch until tonight. Generally a single malt kind of guy, JW Black when going blend.

Anyway, bottle caught my eye this evening at the shop and a great bargain at 25% under the Black so let's give it a try.

Quite pleasantly surprised by the smooth and easy drinkability. Nice soft spice on the nose, little burn up front. Caramel, touch of smoke, woodiness. Quick finish the only drawback to me.

Recommended at the price point. I'll drink again.

Dimply the best

I normally drink single malt and don't go anywhere near blends. I was gifted this bottle and I have to say that I am very pleasantly surprised, very nice dram indeed!
