Single malt whisky that comes from a land down under, where beer does flow and men chunder. Apparently. Limeburners is the first single malt ever produced in Western Australia and this single barrel release was bottled at 43%, producing 348 deliciously sweet and spicy bottles.

My misses bought a bottle after tasting some at perths 'good wine & food' festival. The bottle did not taste anything near the original sample. You could more closey compare it to over smoked charcoal scrapings from the bottom of last years bbq pit. Not worth $40 let alone $200+.

I recently made a trip to Australia. Went through Melbourne, Uluru, Brisbane, Cairns, and Sydney. Tasted Hellyers Road, Sullivan's Cove (French Oak and American Oak Cask)and the Lark. I saw this one at a hotel bar in Sydney and picked it at random. Although the others were great (except the Sullivans Cove American I found kind of mediocre)Limeburners stood out to me. Hit the right notes, very palatable. A great whisky to have and a down under adventure story to tell.

Wow,Lucky enough to have the lovely wife bring home a bottle of M87.Little bit of a kick in the nose, but spreads across the palate like a fine cognac, and satisfies on every level.Light, sweet and spicy, every sip begs a swish. Single barrels from America almost always feature hard, oaky nose and taste bud crushing heat. This whiskey can be had after dinner with a good smoke, poured sparingly, while you have time to bring in everything that is right about it.....which is everything!

Absolutely fantastic (although a bit too pricy). One of my favourites. It's an award winner in London apparently. No I don't have shares in the company or related to owners :-)
