Grant's Character Jug 70s Bottling Note

We've got a unique - if slightly startling - antique decanter here, holding Grant's 25 Year Old blended Scotch. Royal Doulton, an English ceramic company founded in 1815, made this in the shape of the head of a Scots Guard, released as part of Grant's Character Jug series in the 1970s. Behind the head there is a handle made of small ceramic barrels. We'd say it was a fairly good likeness to the chap we can see on the box...

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Grant's 25 Year Old Royal Doulton Character Jug - 1970s Reviews

Inaccurate information

The information you give is incorrect. The jug is a an officer in the Gordon Highlanders not the Scots Guards. The Grant family have family connection to the Battalion. The Jug is that of Glen Grant Gordon. His great great grandson is Sandy Grant Gordon the eldest surviving member. Sandy handed over the running of the company some years ago. I have a full jug presented to my father. Given only to the managers his name and the signature of Sandy Grant a friend of my late father
