Metallica's The Black Album, Terminator 2, this delicious whisky - 1991 was a good year. Exhibits all of the classic Glenrothes flavour. This was bottled in 2007.
The nose is quite fruity and spicy. Notes of liquorice and chocolate, mixed peels, stewed fruits and juicy esters. The palate is quite thick with a light smokiness. Notes of toffee and toasted cereal notes with barley sugariness. Some notes of mixed peels and Madeira with a little cooked fruit. The finish is quite long with juicy sultanas with a spicy, chewy oak.

A side-by-side tasting proved Much Better than the 1995!

Almost as rare as the 1978, it was fairly inexpensive when it was released but now has become as elusive as the unicorn. The Japanese still sell it for $400 a bottle but I can't find it anywhere else in the world. Really wish j had another bottle too. The other review is bang on to say it was superior to 1994, 1995, 1998. However I'd give it a split decision with the 1988. I miss you already and still have a few drama left in my bottle.

This one is full bodied, well-balanced, typically Glenrothes: fruity, spicy with vanilla notes but still different from other vintages. Lightly smoky, amazing characteristic finish. I've had 1994, 1995, 1998 and Three Decades from Glenrothes, this one is by far the best to me. I wish I had another bottle...

This is really good, once you get use to the sulpher taste.
