Distilled on 21st July 1985 and bottled on the 31st May 2005, a superb Speyside single malt from Glenrothes.
The nose is rich and warm. Crisp, toasted cereal notes with juicy barley sweetness. A touch of melted butter with juicy mixed peels and raisins with a hint of salinity. The palate is full and unctuous. Notes of barley sugar and malt extract with vanilla spice and the most chewy of toasted sumptuous oak. A hint of toffee sweetness with fudge. The finish is warm with dry oak.

I just opened the second bottle of this, having drunk the first almost 4 years ago. Still as bad as it was last time. Terrible on the nose, and not much to redeem it after. Very poor for the money.

This remains the best scotch I have ever tasted....it is the scotch that I use to evaluate other scotches. It is extinct now...sadly...but before it became extinct, I was able to purchase 3 bottle of this delicious scotch for my future enjoyment. If you are ever lucky enough to find this or be offered a taste....jump on it!...you won't regret it!
