Glenrothes distil the quintessential spiced Speyside. This was distilled in 1979 and aged for 23 years in sherry casks.
The nose is crisp with excellent clarity. Notes of juicy sherried sultanas. A creamy sweetness with a touch of honey and some feinty leathery notes with a little vanilla and malty barley. The palate is very thick and full with oodles of spiced fruit, both fresh and dried, some peel, a beautifully toffeyed oak with rich acacia honey and pepper. The finish is long with spicy toffee sweetness, vanilla fudge and juicy fruity esters.
