Glenmorangie 10 Year Old Bottling Note

The Original is the flagship single malt Scotch whisky from the Glenmorangie Distillery in the Highlands. Matured in a combination of first-and-second-fill American white oak casks for 10 years, the expression is a benchmark for creamy, approachable single malt. A long-running go-to dram for many whisky enthusiasts (including a few here at MoM Towers), this stuff is superb as an aepritif, though more than suitable for enjoying on a cooler evening.

Glenmorangie 10 Year Old - The Original Reviews

Great Dram

One of my first whisky drams, still one of my favourites

23rd May 2023

A great value, surprisingly smooth malt

This is a lovely go-to malt for me, and excellent value when on offer. It is a little sweet for some, but if you like creamy vanilla then you'll love this. Probably not one for those who prefer the peaty, iodine tasting whiskys. I happen to like both, so clearly there are exceptions!

Not great nor recomend

Really not that good, chocolaty( not sweet) flavour and a bit of cough syrup, with orange hint and bit minty.

Over all more of peat and spicy side.

Liked it

My first proper single malt scotch. Loved it.

Lost its old magic

My first Glen M 10 y.o. for about 10 years. The big hearted soul of it has gone. Slightly bitter middle and finish. All the cheery old notes turned down to 4-1/2.

Toffee Cream Delight

Complex light smoke nose, on taste fruit cake centre, pear and apple compote bags of toffee cream on finish. Was concerned about some recent reviews, maybe a bad batch guys. Even though don't like the recent branding thankfully this remains the great whiskey it always was!

Chemical aftertaste

New tacky label, new nasty taste. What's happened. I've been drinking the Original for years. The latest bottle was horrible.

Something's different & not in a good way

Always loved the 10 yr old glenmorangie original but the most recent bottle tastes different from the usual bottle. This last one tastes more peaty & not as good in my opinion

What has happened?

I have always loved the Original Glenmorangie. However, the last bottle I bought a week ago tastes very different. It has a smoky taste which is not all that pleasant. Has anyone else noticed this?

Very nice scotch

Really smooth easy sipper and comparatively cheap. Not super complex but really nice dram with no real burn and a smooth, fruity finish. Lovely evening sipper. Would be a great intro scotch for newbies.
