Glengoyne 18 Bottling Note

Introduced in 2012, Glengoyne 18 Year Old was revamped to replace the Glengoyne 17 Year Old. From the Highlands of Scotland, this single malt is matured in a mix of refill sherry casks and a generous portion of first-fill sherry casks. The packaging shows off the stunning golden tone and inviting glow imparted by the lengthy maturation. This is a wonderfully warming whisky for sure and an essential for any sherried whisky fan.

Glengoyne 18 Year Old Reviews

good whisky but not worth its price tag. This is a simple 18yo single malt with good enough flavours and aromas. First sill sherry can be smelt and tasted immediately but that soon turns pungent and mouldy. There is a fair bit of spice on the palate but again it turns in to medicinal and ruins your experience.

Very good but….

….the price increase from Glengoyne since ~mid 2020 has been way too excessive. Used to be my favourite distillery but they’ve priced me out as a customer. No way I can justify buying an 18-year old at this price now especially when it’s only 43% (ditto for the 21-year-old)!

One of the smoothest malts I’ve ever tasted. Small sips let’s you enjoy the taste for even longer. Highly recommended.

Punches above its weight

I’ve had several bottles of the 17 year old over a number of years. Having sampled the 25 year old ( I’ll get a bottle soon)! This 18 year old seems to be close to the whole experience of the older whiskey - really satisfying drink taken slowly - no splash of water - very highly recommended - abs I will also add - value for money !

Better than the 21

Such a full, smooth, creamy whisky. Far better than the 21 imo, worth the price

If you have not tasted it you have missed something.

Soft and warm. Very enjoyable super quality whiskey. One on my favourites.

incredibly smooth and finish is longish but milder than most.

A lovely creamy dram this. I first tried it at a distillery tasting years ago and was impressed, along with the 21 and 25 which is nectar.
Anyway this has to me, honey, cream a little smooth spices, maybe caramel, vanilla etc and a little lemon too.
incredibly smooth and finish is longish but milder than most. for this money i'd say the tomatin 18 is better.

Bought a bottle at the distillery. Amazing. Savored it for as long as possible. One of my favorites.
