Glengoyne 12 Year Old Bottling Note

Completely unpeated (unusual in the highlands), this Glengoyne is soft, fruity and very quaffable. A fine single malt!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Toffee apples, a little acacia honey, nectarine in syrup and spice, supported by toasted barley in the background.

Palate: Over-ripe grapes, honeyed with hints of vanilla, coconut milk and oak spice. Light touches of chocolate ice-cream.

Finish: Long, oily finish with lingering coffee notes.

Glengoyne 12 Year Old Reviews

A crowd-pleaser.....oh yes!

Just missed the full 5* due to being just shy of the more favourable 46% and having no mention of non-chill filtration. That aside, a delightful and pleasing whisky that lives up to the tasting notes and one whose presentation shows real quality at the price point. Both the toffee apple and coconut are evident on the nose and palate; smooth and beautifully balanced too. Highly recommended if you want a day off from more challenging flavour profiles.

It’s a winner!

I don’t have the most sophisticated taste buds, now that’s out of the way, this is great tasting whisky. If like me you are not into the peaty stuff, then give this one a try.

Pacific islands

I agree with ‘coconut island’….that unusual scent on the nose is like a coconut plantation, initially didn’t like it but now I can ID it reminds me of a year spent in the pacific the oily finish..all up pretty good

Lovely Dram

A lovely whisky that I had overlooked. A pleasing drink for the start to finish. I will buy it again.

A sipper for a summer's day

I was given this as a gift, I normally go for an Islay over anything else but I was pleasantly surprised. It's really bright and fruity, long sweet, raisin finish. If you're a Highland fan I'd give it a go

A nice Whisky

I am enjoying this Whisky, but not as much as I thought I would. It seems to be lacking something, but I cannot put my finger on what................. saying that, it still gets 4 stars.

Just sublime

I have wanted to try something from the Glengoyne distillery for a while after it was recommended to me from a whisky aficionado mate of mine.
The 12 is brilliant. So deliciously citrusy and smooth. Very eager to browse the distillery catalogue now.

very nice

This is a really nice and tasty scotch with a very nice toffee and slightly smoky finish . Lots of fruit in the nose and taste and just an altogether quality whisky.Natural colour and bottled at 43% for a good mouthfeel. Recommended.

Well worth the five star grading

This is one of my favourite malts. It is evident that the time and effort used in the making of this whisky is well worth it. I thoroughly enjoy this every time I drink it.
