This is the first chance to try whisky produced by the recently re-opened Glenglassaugh Distillery.
It was closed in 1986 but resumed production in 2008. This revival bottling is the first whisky to be made at the distillery since it reopened. Matured in a mixture of first and refill bourbon casks, this was finished for 6 months in first-fill oloroso sherry butts.
Sweet caramel and toffee with notes of nutty Sherry, milk chocolate and honey. Ripe plums, red berries and oranges. Caramelised sugar and earthy, charred oak.
Sweet, rounded and creamy. Oranges, plums, cherry and walnuts, chocolate, honey-mead, Sherry and soft, spiced oak.
Medium with warming mulled-wine spices, Sherry and caramel.
Absolutely beautiful dram Definitely buy again
very balanced not too complex nice spice medium finish for a young whisky its doesnt taste like it needs some time in the glass before it shines but when it comes around youll know
I’m not as good at picking out individual flavor notes as others, but this makes me feel like I’m drinking a delightful vanilla milkshake every time I drink it. It just gives the mental image of a sweet creamy milkshake. IMO one of the best values out there and I enjoy it more than a lot of much more expensive drams.
To be very blunt smells ethanol because of youth there is not much other.Very harsh on throat. My recommendation needs more time in Barrel. There are many other Single Malts NAS better and Value @ 46 ABV.
Decent & for the reduced price of £31 def worth trying. More an every night dram for an affordable price.
