The second release in Glenfiddich's Experimental Series is their Project XX expression, which was made not simply by one Malt Master, but 20! 20 Malt Masters were invited to the Glenfiddich distillery and invited them to pick any expression from the thousands of casks maturing in the warehouse. The 20 chosen whiskies were then married by Malt Master Brian Kinsman to create this single malt you see before your eyes. Hooray for teamwork!
Nose: This smells like a bit of a beastie, lots of woody spicy notes, toffee and orange peel. Clearly some serious cask action going on here.
Palate: Lots of wood: cloves, cinnamon and vanilla with tingly wood tannins, all wrapped up with some sweet fudge notes.
Finish: Long and layered, with lingering notes of espresso and dark chocolate.

I don’t know what these soap salesman are drinking? This scotch is absolutely delicious and better in my opinion than many higher priced options in the same line. But thats the beauty of living in a democracy we are all entitled too our opinion.

Agreed with soapy , my expectations were more than this, others like fire& cane was much better and tastier , couldn’t have the joy of drinking a proper whisky

Generic. Vanilla nose, Woody with a slight vanilla and anise up front and a bitter lingering cinnamon finish. Nothing special.

Over 10 years of drinking whiskey and sampled many different ones and this one is my number 1....drank a full bottle in about 3 hours and I slowed down to try and enjoy longer.

Not bad, but glad I only tried the sample, the bottle would have been a waste. It's quite drinkable, but I find this to be a little over-fragrant, and not in a good way. I don't mind it and don't think it's as bad as some of the other reviews, but it does have a strange mildly soapy taste to it. I can imagine this would be rather nice to some, it's just not a patch on their 15 to me... Very smooth though, I'll give it that!

Not what id come to expect from this sinominous brand, the first dram was a let down as i was hoping for more, very hot to finish, better with a couple of rocks, ill stick with the 12YO.

This is a strange one, I tried it at the distillery in January and enjoyed it. I recently purchased a bottle and although it was pleasant on the nose, it tasted first of soap, followed by a horribly bitter finish. I actually couldn't drink it!

If anyone has ever been to a distillery warehouse, took a long, deep breath and wished they could buy a bottle that matched that aroma - this is it!
For me, the whisky release of the year. It’s like having the complete range added to a bottle. Now some say they get a soapy finish, ok could be with certain pallets. But it’s actually the mix of so many nuances of flavours battling against each other. Adding water breaks up these flavours to allow you to taste each one slowly. Tuis whisky is truly exceptional without doubt. It’s like blending a cambelton and spayside in one bottle
