'Spirit Of A Nation' Bottling Note

In December 2013, four brave servicemen and women who have been wounded while serving in the armed forces will set out on an awe-inspiring 335km race to the South Pole. Glenfiddich have proudly sponsored the team and released the 29 year old 'Spirit of a Nation' whisky in their honour.

A UK exclusive, this single malt Scotch whisky comes from a refill sherry cask, laid down in February 1984, which was selected by Glenfiddich's Malt Master. It was finished in a special cask that has toured the UK, appearing at four events in support of the Walking With The Wounded UK South Pole Challenge team. Good luck messages for the servicemen and women were written on the cask itself.

Just 200 bottles of Glenfiddich 'Spirit of a Nation' were released.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Beautiful dried fruit notes with rich oak spices drifting up wonderfully.

Palate: Vanilla ice-cream dusted with sweet, spicy cinnamon. Deeper notes of beeswax and luxurious polished leather.

Finish: The vanilla continues on the finish, which goes on and on brilliantly.

Overall: 'Spirit of a Nation' is a superb release from Glenfiddich, one that honours the brave servicemen and women very well.
