The Glendronach distillery's core range underwent a shiny redesign in 2024, and here we have its smart new-look 18 Year Old single malt. The Highlander was matured completely in oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía in Spain and boasts an exceptionally rich and fruity sherried profile.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sherry notes so thick you need a knife to cut them! There's a hint of old rum in there too, with pineapple and brown sugar in tow.
Palate
Christmas cake, rum again, chocolate-coated hazelnut, runny honey and a hint of Sauternes.
Finish
Fresh blackcurrant, blueberry pancakes with a generous helping of maple syrup.
