Aged for 35 years in a single sherry butt, this Glencadam was originally distilled back in April 1977. It was bottled in February 2013 by Douglas Laing as part of their Director's Cut range. No chill filtration was used and there is no artificial colouring either. Bottled at cask strength, the outturn was just 149 bottles.
Nose: Sweet barley, star anise. Hints of bracken and clove.
Palate: Spiced rum, cola cubes and heather honey. Chocolate digestive biscuits.
Finish: Oak, wood spices and more exotic spices too.
Overall: A spiced flora treat.

This may be some of the best Scotch that I have ever had. I was expecting very good, but what it delivered was exceptional. From the nose to the finish it was as good as I have ever had including bottles that cost 3 or 4 times as much. Highly recommended.
