This 10 year old single malt Scotch whisky, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company, sports a label that may at first appear completely unrelated to the Glenallachie distillery from whence it came - why are there fish playing a rock concert, I hear you ask? Glenallachie's name translates to 'Valley of the Rocky Place', though there is nothing rocky about the third batch of this delicious whisky.
Batch 3 is a release of 2,483 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Nose: Immediately sweet, with oodles of caramel, toffee apple and creamy milk chocolate. There's a pinch of pepper underneath.
Palate: Notes of under-ripe Conference pear, a much more subtle sweetness although hints of caramel still peek through.
Finish: A lingering minerality, with a touch of sharp grapefruit citrus and a little spice.

Bloody fucking hell. The nose is monstrous. Full of caramel, toffee, honey everything sweet and unxious. But prepared to be supprised. Tbh I thought it reaked of a blend, which to me can be sub par compared to single malts. But here lays the difference on the palate. No falling of a cliff here. Rich smooth undercurrents of savoury long lasting enjoyment. A great dram. Again loving an indy. M Horrell
