A.D. Rattray headed over to Speyside for this indie whisky, distilled at Glenallachie in July 2012. It rested in a single sherry butt for seven years, until September 2019 when it was bottled up for the Cask Collection, with 641 bottles released at a burly 65.9% ABV.
Nose: Crystallised ginger, spiced, stewed apple and plump dried fruit.
Palate: Cherry jam, hedgerow berries and fresh, chocolatey malt.
Finish: Cooked berries, a touch of oak spice and more stewed apple.

Had this for xmas last year...bit heavy on the alcohol, nice enuff, decent flavours....BUT, i prefer a darker/milder more xmassy sherry bomb for xmas... well worth a try, but imo you can do better as a xmas tipple :)
