GlenAllachie 18 Year Old

GlenAllachie 18 Year Old Bottling Note

The GlenAllachie range was relaunched in mid-2018, following Billy Walker (formerly of BenRiach) purchasing the distillery in 2017. This particular release is an 18 year old expression, which was aged in American oak, Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Salted butter on crumpets, treacle tart, a whiff of cinnamon bun.

Palate: Once again barley-forward, though now with kirsch and sultana notes in support.

Finish: Caramelised dates and peanut butter.

Very disappointed, and overpriced!

Loved it!

Great Dram, long spicy finish with soft sherry tones initially. would be an excellent accompaniment for food such as a juicy peppered steak. Definitely going to need another bottle.

One to try slowly after dinner

Beautiful dram. It is from a mix of casks with flavours coming those different casks.
Great nose and body. The best is for the end with a very long finish of great flavours.
Recommended.

Not worth the money

Utterly disapointed , I can't get anything on the nose and the taste is nothing special, it certainly does not taste like an 18 yo aged in in Sherry casks for a period of time, this cost me over 90 quid and I wish I could get my money back, maybe I had a bad bottle but this is poor whisky I should have got a glendronach or balblair .
