Glen Grant 1956 (bottled 2006) - (Gordon & MacPhail)

Glen Grant 1956-2006 Bottling Note

A vintage Glen Grant, and a classic Speyside, distilled in 1956 and matured in first fill sherry casks.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is quite rich and well-balanced. There is a defined fruitiness and a cut hay freshness. Notes of golden syrup and toffee, cinnamon and cloves and toasty oak. Aa touch of dried fruit and just a hint of sherry emerges. The palate is quite full and well-rounded with a good smoothness. There are notes of cut hay once more, with a good oaked note, with spice and requisite dry notes. Hints of smoke traipse with listless poise. The finish is quite long and smoked with spicy, peppery oak.
