Glen Grant 1951 Bottling Note

This was distilled at Glen Grant in 1951 and bottled by Gordon and MacPhail after a maturation in refill sherry hogsheads.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is of medium-body with an exceptional balance. There are notes of sweet dried peels and mixed fruits with plenty of chewy raisin notes. There are some fino sherry notes rising gentle with a touch of rubber somewhere in the substratum. The palate is of medium-body with a defined subtlety. There are notes of walnut and hazelnut with subsequent oiliness. There are hints of winter spice and a developing wood smoke. The finish is long and peppery with dry oaken smoke.
