Stagg Jr. Bottling Note

Another batch of the sublime Stagg Jr. has arrived! It may be a younger and stylistically more approachable alternative to Buffalo Trace's much-loved George T. Stagg bourbon, but that doesn't mean that Stagg Jr. lacks any of intensity and power Stagg fans desire. This unfiltered Kentucky Straight bourbon whiskey is big, bold and bottled at barrel strength - in this case a sturdy 63.2% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Toasted oak, new leather and fiery tannins lead, with plenty of thick honey, flamed orange peel and earthy vanilla in support.

Palate: Lush toffee sweetness, dark chilli chocolate and prickly molasses, followed by dark berries and more vanilla.

Finish: Cherries, cloves and some wood smoke.

Stagg Jr. Reviews

Different class

Gutted this has sold out - an absolute stonker. Perhaps the perfect big hit whisk(e)y

It’s got more sherry than an abunadh despite being virgin oak.

It’s got depth and complexity galore and the most amazing dry finish. Like licking strong black tea out of the inside of a smooth rubber inner tube

I live cask strength scotch but this is a different level altogether

Buy it and savour it until the next bottle

Definitely the 5 burn bourbon we all love to drink straight. None of this rocks crap
