Straight bourbon from Garrison Brothers, the first legal whiskey distillery in Texas! Highly rated by Jim Murray in his Whisky Bible, this Lone Star state whisky is produced in Hye. (That's Hye, not Rye.)
Nose: Classic bourbon notes of honeyed toasty oak and wood spices.
Palate: Sweet entry, big but rounded with notes of blackcurrant and liquorice in support.

The 2015 is bolder and darker on color than any of the single barrels I have tried. It has the normal vanilla and oak with a bit more of the black pepper spice in the finish.
