Nose: Burnt sugar from the top of a Crème brûlée, hints of rye, cherry and oak.
Palate: The rye is excitingly spicy. It doesn't get crazy, but it's definitely lively. Richly sweet notes open up with a drop of water to reveal more cherries, along with blackberries and nutmeg.
Finish: A smoky heat on the finish.
Overall: We couldn't ask for more from Four Roses. Of course, we could ask for more of this, but you understand what I'm getting at. It's marvelous.
