Reviews for Filey Bay Moscatel Finish (Batch 4)
Smooth, sweetish but the spirit comes through
This is the third different whisky that I have bought from Filey Bay. I have loved them all. There is a sweetness to this whisky but the spirit comes through as well. Good value for money

Non-dry without being overly sweet and viscous
I bought this having completed the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery tour (something I thoroughly recommend - the young lady who took us on our tour did a fantastic job, I can’t remember her name but she was quite new to tour guiding as at early April 2022). We got to taste three others, which were all wonderful, and I was offered a taste of two more at the till, one of which was this.
I like a slightly sweeter tasting whisky and this gives a decent balance of not being overly dry without the compromise of a high viscosity. Possibly my favourite whisky for the moment.

EE - Enjoyable English!
I’m new to English single malt whiskies having spent quite some time and money discovering Scottish single malts. So I decided to try English and bought 4 different bottles from various regions of England. I must admit that I’ve been surprised and very impressed with them all. They all have individual characters as does this one. As the other reviews say, it’s a very enjoyable, sweetish and flavoursome whisky with a definite taste of Moscatel…discernible but subtle, possibly because I’m not used to that flavour. It’s lovely to drink…the problem is stopping! I will certainly buy this again!

Very quaffable piece of Yorkshire goodness.
Really tasty drop of Yorkshire. Has an Irish fruitiness combined with a nice sweetness from the Moscatel cask. Dangerously quaffable and extremely enjoyable. Very promising distillery doing the right thing.

Surprisingly motorists whisky
I didn't know what yo expect when I tasted this. I certainly wasn't expecting a beautifully balanced, soft whisky like this. It will be strong competition for Scots and Japanese rivals. Yes pleaee

Honeycombe, orange marmalade, pineapple & brown sugar, ginger. Not bad at all.

Just brilliant
Just brilliant! I can see this appealing to many palates. For a young whisky it has depth and the Moscatel finish has added a layer of flavour to round off a beautiful dram.
