Excellent bourbon. Has been one of my favorites after a late September bird hunt in the Carolinas. As always, it’s real bourbon and therefore no caramel chemicals added.

I found the oak taste overwhelming in this bottling. Much more so than other years. Adding an ice cube did open it up a little, but not a really enjoyable dram.

This bottle earned it's four stars. It's a single barrel in taste, not just name (More importantly not just in price.) As single barrel selections grow in popularity, they also seem to be growing in price. This is a bold but smooth Bourbon that exhibits the nose, mouth feel, and unique palate like other SB Bourbons in the $100 range. This is a solid dram that you won't feel guilty about buying. My favorite way to enjoy is over a large ice ball. The nose really wakes up after a minute or two. Another minute or two and you'll find your tumbler empty....
