Nose: Vanilla pod infused sweetness, mixed with cinnamon warmth and a hearty whiff of oak.

Buy This

Tried this in a local shop. Picked up a bottle straight away. Great stuff. Maple syrup smooth goodness. The finish is what makes this. Punches above its weight in terms of price point. Get some.

Great value for money

Tonnes of flavor and some good body. Pick this up if you can find it sub $30.

Great value vintage bourbon

I have a whisk(e)y library of 100 types representing all styles of Scotch and Irish as well as ten Americans and some Japanese, Welsh and even Swiss (don't recommend it).

This may not be to everybody's taste but there's no denying it delivers a lot of flavour at a keen price. Very strong nose of vanilla, toffee (hint of maple syrup) and warm winter spices. Palate very similar but stronger on the spice (from the rye?). Toffee turns to toffee-apple. Quite a long finish with a slowly developing sourness that I like.

I don't see how anyone can appreciate Scotch without also drinking Bourbon. This is delicious and will always have a place on my shelves (well, until I drink it and buy another).

A little respect

My brother and I sip bourbon when we meet to absent friends. I bought this on a recommendation from my pal who lives in Hopkinsville, Ky. He advised me to serve just under room temperature, and to pour each glass a few minutes before sipping.

He was right - the bouquet opens up hugely in a few minutes rest, and toffee-apple offsets the burn beautifully. A long hereby finish adds joy.

This is not a "mellow" bourbon but it is a fine, strong personality spirit. I loved it and bought another bottle.

Local store gets their own barrel every year, and I've enjoyed most but not this year...The burn from this barrel is like nothing I've ever tasted and it's not a good burn...The flavor profile that I've read in the numerous reviews is not at all present...A large cube helps calm the burn a bit, but only after it melts completely... That shouldn't have to happen...I'm taking the bottle back to the store today to see what the spirits guy there thinks...

Not too shabby

Had this in the 2014 Advent Calendar and the wife and I enjoyed the dram. I'm not overly impressed with bourbon but this is not bad. worth a buy

Evan Williams Single Barrel 2004

maple and vanilla on the nose and the taste is similar, somewhat spicy finish, theres a lot going on there, licorice? Not rich and creamy like say Noahs Mill that gives a long aftertaste but not like a straight rye either that just disappears. Opens up even more 10-15 minutes after serving. Doesnt dissapoint at all but not the best single barrel bourbon around either.
