Elijah Craig has long been a favourite bourbon of many whiskey enthusiasts - to the point where their stocks of 12 year old bourbon have been under a lot of pressure. The producers made the decision to discontinue the 12 Year Old expression and create this expression to take its place. It manages to maintain the incredibly high quality that Elijah Craig is known for, including the delicious core of cooked apple drizzled in honey notes. This expression has been well received, taking home not one but two San Francisco World Spirits Competition Double Gold medals!
Honeycomb, fresh cedar, marmalade and some spicy cardamom seed.
Baked apples with a dusting of cinnamon, followed by fresh honey and cookie dough.
Lingering nutmeg and charred oak.
Hands down my favourite Bourbon. Strong cherry notes on the nose and pallet, with a delightful long finish. My go to Old Fashioned whisk(e)y!
I’ve made the switch from scotch to bourbon, I like the corn. I was a stitch afficiando until the spicy robust bourbon won me over. Hands down I’m pretty picky since my favorites are mostly from the Beam line and family, I like their yeast product it goes for a nice dry finish. So it’s hard to like another bourbon but this Elijah has won me over, also George Dickel, and George Stagg, to name a few..
This bottle has confirmed my general dislike for American corn whiskeys Very heavy, brutish, almost chemical taste. I am sure this is just my own palate, but I much prefer the lighter Canadian rye whiskies such as Pendelton, Crown, etc.
Every once in a while comes a bottle that makes you wonder if now you're an alcoholic, because it calls your name whenever you pass by the pass by your bar. This is one of those bottle. (You understand you're okay when the bottle is finished though ;))
I’m no expert on whiskey i’m simply working through a list of 50 whiskeys, i’m having a great time by the way, this whiskey is great it is strong on the pallet but if you keep it in you mouth swill it around you’ll be just fine great price and great taste simples
