A third bottling of Wheskykôrka ('whisky-church') from Svenska Eldvatten, except this one isn't from Bunnahabhain like the first two. Instead, this is from a heavily peated single malt from another (undisclosed) Islay distillery... Matured in a single 250 litre ex-PX Sherry hogshead, the outturn was 246 exciting bottles.
Nose: Big and peaty with sticking plasters, vanilla, barley and chestnut. Impressive.
Palate: Huge creamy peat goodness, mixed peels and touches of yellow fruit, salted caramel nut brittle.
Finish: Soot, honeyed tobacco, medicinal.
