A cask-strength Edradour from 1998, bottled in a beautiful decanter. This is a very limited release of only a few hundred bottles from Scotland's smallest distillery.
Nose: Full, but well-balanced with lots of dried fruit including sultanas. Mixed sugared peels. Nutmeg and cloves, mixed spice, orange marmalade. Vanilla cream.
Palate: Thick and full, very soft in the mouth with a creamy orange note. Some dried fruits segue into spice. A hint of crystallized ginger and vanilla custard.
Finish: Long and quite spicy with some tannins emerging, along with peppery vanilla.
Overall: A full-bodied satisfying dram.
