The second release of Duncan Taylor's Black Bull Special Reserve, a blended scotch whisky that uses 50% malt to grain, as with their 12 and 40 year old releases.
After the first release popularity, this one is set to fly off the shelves, with just 871 bottles produced.
Nose: Rounded toffee, ginger, vanilla and toasted pine nuts. More aromatic notes are teasing.
Palate: Caramel with hints of dried apple and juicy apricot. Hazelnut spread. Pepper.
Finish: Full, with great depth, cocoa, orange oil.
Overall: Another excellent Black Bull blend.
