From the Douglas Laing Double Barrel range comes yet another intriguing blended malt Scotch whisky, created using just two casks of single malt. One of these casks came from an anonymous Speyside distillery, and the other came from an anonymous Lowland distillery.

Blends seem to still get a bit of a bad name, but this might be a good first step into their world. A blend of just two single malts from two secret distilleries in the lowlands and Speyside. Nice and fresh on the nose with fruit honey and vanilla on the palate. Nice slow spice warmth with a sweet zestyness on the finish. Natural colour and non-chill filtered too. Definitely a bargain and a hidden gem for true scotch whisky fans.

Classic tastes one is accustomed to: smokey barley cereal on the nose with a touch of speyside fruitiness. Toffee cream on the arrival into vanilla and oak spices. What a creation. I could drink it all day, it's on lighter side but is vatted flawlessly. If you like classic scotch taste of fruity/floral whiskies this is the way to go. Love it.

A really intriguing whisky from Douglas Laing. I've now tried this and their other one, islay and highland, and i'm a fan of both. Well worth trying!

An interesting combination but interesting in a really good way. This is a very compelling, complex Malt that certainly delivers on the nose, mouthfeel and finish. There's a fruity, barley, fulsome style to this expression which is most enjoyable and recommendable.
