A limited edition 18 year old variation on Douglas Laing's Rock Oyster Island blended malt, made exclusively with whiskies distilled on Arran, Jura, Islay and Orkney. We told ourselves that we wouldn't made a B-52s reference when writing this bottling note, and we're sticking to that promise.
Nose: Full-bodied coastal smoke, with hints of sugared peels and peppery oak underneath.
Palate: A good balance of peat richness and vanilla-forward sweetness. Subtle minerality.
Finish: A burst of heather honey appears late on the finish.

+ bananas, banana peels. touch of tutti fruitti, from the Jura. Loses a bit of peat (about two and a half weeks in), especially on the nose, but gains fruity fullness. Whipped cream. Birthday cake. Milk chocolate. Also loses saltiness.Would not recommend water in newly opened bottle, but would very much recommend at this point. Half a teaspoon.- August Guy.

Incredible whisky. Transports you immediately to a coastal environment - waves, ocean breeze, slight smoke and a brown sugar sweetness. I will be back for another bottle and keen to try the sherried one too next time. Nom nom nom
