Tennessee Rye 5 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Cask Finish (Darkness)
Sherried rye whiskey isn't something you see every day, but that's exactly what we've got here from the Darkness independent bottling range! This is a five year old rye from Tennessee, which has been given a finishing period in Pedro Ximénez sherry octave casks, which makes for vastly increased surface area to volume ratio compared to your standard sized cask. The result is a whiskey with sherried notes standing up handsomely to those characteristic spicy rye elements.

Nose
Lemon sherbet sweeties, chocolate, red chilli flake and a good crackle of peppery oak.
Palate
Creamy vanilla, mint chocolate, slightly buttery at points, with baking spices and cedar building.
Finish
Earthy caraway and peppercorn, with hints of Cadbury Fruit & Nut.
