Dalwhinnie Distillers '22

Double matured Dalwhinnie here. This addition to the 2022 Distillers Edition sees the Highland single malt matured in oloroso seasoned American oak casks, which brings a touch of tropical notes to this whisky.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Guava, and mango, with twists of black pepper.

Palate Fresh tropical fruit drizzled with honey, a touch of toasted coconut, and some nutmeg.

Finish A little nutty, and with warming spice.

Nice (not my usual go to)
15 yr old, unlike other diageo distillers editions that have gone NAS. Somewhat tropical smelling, but not sherry specifically. Quite full and nicely rounded. Sweet, long finish. Thecstyle is not my usual, I prefer a bit more peat and bite, but it is not bad.
Would I buy it again? Not sure. Bit of a warming winter whisky (and it's July). I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
