Dalwhinnie 1992 (bottled 2010) Oloroso Cask Finish - Distillers Edition

Dalwhinnie 1992-2010 DE Bottling Note

This was distilled at Dalwhinnie in 1992, and it's undergone a finish in Oloroso sherry casks. The result is a beautifully rich whisky with all kinds of thick, syrupy flavours.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Green and oaky with notes of sweet vanilla, nutmeg and sultana. Hints of redcurrants and barley.

Palate: Hints of bitter oak, creamy malt and custard. Redcurrants and a compote made thereof, a little manuka honey, some charred oak and cinnamon.

Finish: Spicy and very fruity, almost tangy with hints of lavender honey.

User Reviews of the Dalwhinnie 1992 (bottled 2010) Oloroso Cask Finish - Distillers Edition

Great expression

Age and the oloroso sherry cask has taken this Dalwhinnie to a great place. Rich, full mouth flavour, honey sweet and spicey.

Mrs vickers

Disappointed I bought this for my husband tho is a Dalwhinnied fan, it was bought blind as there are no miniatures available for tasting,I paid £55 and to be truthful it was not worth the money, this was for his birthday, this was a treat which ,this was a treat that turned out to be a big disappointment.

Such a Shame

I bought this with high expectations. I like the 15yr old but was really disappointed with this bottling. It is far to sweet for me and does not carry the depth of flavour you would expect from an 18. Save your money!
