The 12 year old edition of the popular Cutty Sark blend from Berry Bros & Rudd. Michael Jackson suggested this as "a whisky for the beach".
Light, balanced. Salty character, buttery. Seville marmalade. Cut hay, pear drops.
Gentle, vanilla, touch of tropical fruit, perfume note, citrus.
Good length, dried seaweed, sweetness, oak.
Cracking dram is this. Takes a drop of water well too which opens it up. I catch a note of burnt candy....
Extremely well balanced whisky, in which the 12 years really do the trick. Light and elegant, with a touch of honey in it. Definitely recommandable in this prize range.
