Crown Royal is an excellent Canadian whisky/rye that is consistently good. Pour equal parts Crown and Coke in a pint glass, add ice and enjoy. Yes, it's a tad expensive but it won't break the bank as per higher end whiskeys. Crown Royal Cask 16 is also highly recommend drunk neat.
Was presented with bottle of Crown Royal here, in St.Pete,Russia. Initially could not tell from the bottle/sack if it is some cheap swill trying to be solid or some real stuff. Tried it and found that it was not typical one - from one hand dryeish like cheap ones , from the other - it was mellow and gave me noble taste and no wrong connotations at all)) By the way, the morning after half litre was fine. Checked the price here - 45 USD. BR, Arthur

Crown Royal is the worst whiskey ever. Tastes like licking a 9v battery and burns twice as much as drinking the acid from said battery. Good whiskey should warm...not burn. Go with Gentleman Jack or Bullit and you'll have a much better time.

Bought a bottle thinking it would turn me into a lifelong drinker and boy was i wrong. Sure you can mix it, but you can buy something for half the price for that. Overpriced if you didn't get the hint.

I take frequent visits across the channel to France, and have always taken advantage of the cheaper prices in my quest for the perfect whisky. But not at a blue label level. Tried many. Then I came across this one , not easy to get in the shops in UK (don't know why). Unique consistency and aroma, good colour, kind burn, lovely taste. Canada should be proud of this one.

I absolutely love crown royal, for it was the first whiskey I took a shining to. It's the only brand that I can drink right out the bottle. Crown maple, worst thing ever. Crown black, fuckin delicious. Thank you crown Royal for making an excellent whiskey. Gots my bottle on the go as we speak. Happy holidays from myself in Edmonton.

It's easy to pick on crown royal for no other reason that it's a big seller and people enjoy mixing it with soda, etc. If you enjoy expensive single major scotch, you are unlikely to enjoy this blend. I have had all manner of pricey whisky and I have always enjoyed crown. I prefer it neat with a small ice chip. If you enjoy it for what it is, you'll be fine.

I tried Crown Royal for the first time a few weeks ago - it's on sale in the pub I frequent on route to see Rangers home games.I really liked Crown Royal: served neat, without water or ice. The style is mellow and creamy. Very enjoyable, and definitely more-ish. An excellent warmer before watching the match on a cold, damp Scottish autumnal afternoon. What do I know about whisky? I've enjoyed single malts for over 20 years, and have an extensive collection of single malts and a few blends. When it comes to a creamy style: I can't think of better than Crown Royal. What whiskies do I drink most?Dalmore 15 year old.Lagavulin 16 year old. What's the finest I've ever tasted?Macallan 25 year oldPort Ellen 32 year old

Do not try this with water or neat. It is terrible. Fine in a mixed drink, sort of. I'm Canadian and half ashamed at how popular this swill is here in Canada. Made to get drunk on when mixed with cola, that's it.

It is impossible to drink it. Like bad vodka for high price.

So here is a little context. I'm a whisky bartender rocking a little bar in QLD Australia. When we got this in I was curious to see if this was any good. Spoiler, it was probably the worst drop I have put in my mouth. The bottle is ugly (screw top) and it tastes and feels worse than CC, which is saying something because Canadian Club is only good for drenching in mixers. TL;DR ---- Better luck next time crown royal.

I don't know much about Canadian whisky, I drank nothing but Canadian Club until I happened upon Crown Royal. I think it's a great whisky in its own right. My first impression was that it was a little dry and the finish was too short. Then next time I tried it, I let it warm a little before nosing and tasting, and I was pleasantly surprised! A full-bodied whisky with vinous fruit and lots of creamy vanilla oak. I think it has a place in any drinks cabinet.

A nasty whiskey, but not as bad as Canadian Club. Don't waste your money.

Quite frankly I like it.My dad gave me a bottle when he found out I was exploring whisky. It had me at hello; strong and smooth :) (note the smiley face that came with that statement)- M.G. (MNL, Philippines)P.S. My mother asked me for the bottle when I'm done. She says it can make a good flower vase

Not only was it George VI's 1st visit to Canada, it was the first visit ever by any British monarch and they are the de facto Head of State there.

TRY IT ON THE ROCKS OR WITH GINGER ALE.

Well spotted that man! The farcical historical assertion in question has now been corrected although we did all decide it was something of a shame that Crown Royal wasn’t named after George IV as we rather like the cut of his jib… - The Chaps at Master of Malt

Hello lovely whisky people. In your Crown Royal bottling note, you wrote that it was first created in 1939 to celebrate King George the 4th visiting Canada. In 1939 The King was George the 6th. Typo you may like to correct. The whisky in question is a fine, easy drinking whisky and great for people just starting to discover the taste of whisky!

Wife is a big Foo Fighters fan and after seeing an interview with Dave Grohl as he went on stage breathing booze fumes onto the TV presenter back stage, I bought a bottle of said 'mouth perfume' for my missus. Wasn't expecting much other than 'it's the one Dave Grohl drinks' but it is really smooth and vevelty like you hope a whiskey should be. The blend is perfect and has a really gorgeous aroma. Only problem is only she is allowed to drink it so I might have to get a bottle for myself. Comes in a nice velvety bag - or at least ours did. A1. Getsum.
