Togouchi Kiwami Bottling Note

Kiwami (meaning 'supreme') is a blended Japanese whisky from Chugoku Jozo who mature their whiskies in a 361 metre long tunnel rather than a warehouse, which is fun.

Togouchi Kiwami Reviews

Very nice Japanese Whisky

Having bought a bottle of Togouchi premium and enjoyed it very much, I thought I'd buy a sample of this whisky, and I was not disappointed. It is understated and harmonious (like the premium), with a complex nose and particular abundance of savoury notes with a slightly zingy sherberty acidity and light body.
Tasting notes:
Nose: mushrooms, grana padano, subtle mould, lemongrass, dates, pine nuts. Palate: lemons, daisies, butter. Finish: plums, gentle spice, slight sourness.
I've not given it 5 stars because it feels like it's missing a little depth of flavour on the palate and finish.
