Catto's 12 Year Old Bottling Note

Catto's, founded in 1861 by James Catto, began by blending Highland malt and Lowland grain whiskies in Aberdeen. Their 12 year old blended Scotch whisky has been blended from malted and grain whiskies from the Highlands, Speyside and the Lowlands of Scotland, aged in oak casks before being married. This golden aromatic whisky is amature version of their renowned blend and even won a silver medal at the IWSC in 2014.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Aromatic and sweet, with zesty citrus fruit and cereal accentuated by toffee and light vanilla.

Palate: A complex nutty sweetness, gradually giving way to lemon rind and oaky flavours.

Finish: Oak and a touch of salt and pepper, a delicate spicy warmth that lingers.

Catto's 12 Year Old Reviews

Simple but well balanced

I got as a present from my mother in law, and was actually pleasantly surprised. A well balanced and simple blend. Easy to drink and very enjoyable. I would put this one under the casual, day to day section. Not complex in any way, but still a nice way to unwind after a long day at work.
