Caperdonich 1980 Bottling Note

A Gordon and MacPhail bottling from the Caperdonich distillery, this was distilled in 1980 and matured in a refill sherry hogshead for 20 years before bottling.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is firm and soft. Soft fruit notes and hints of almond and hazelnut with a buttery, gristy texture. The palate has good sweetness with medium body Fresh notes of spicy black pepper and a floral character. Little hints of candy floss, but without the requisite sweetness and vinous notes alongside toasty wood and fennel. The finish is long and dry with peppery spice and oak.
