Caol Ila Young & Feisty Bottling Note

A small batch bottling from the Caol Ila distillery, aged for just a few years in a pair of refill hogsheads. This was bottled in Winter 2012 by Douglas Laing, who declare it to be "young and feisty"!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Grassy and green nose, notes of butterscotch, toffee apple, freshly baked pastries and cheesecake.

Palate: Spiced and punchy, notes of coal tar, oily smoke, toffee and salt caramels.

Finish: Long finish with dry oak and seaweed.

Overall: A youthful, spicy little whisky which punches well above its weight.

Caol Ila "Young & Feisty" - Provenance (Douglas Laing) Reviews

Excellent scotch

Picked the bottle up on a whim. Love most everything I've tried from Caol Ila (peated and non) and this bottle was no disappointment. Lives up to its name found it exactly that. Strong and spicy yet sweet and salty. Smoke is ever present lingers like a good cigar. Excellent scotch has me shopping for more from the provenance line from DL.
