Caol Ila 8 Year Old 2011 (cask 13131) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

Caol Ila 8yo 2011 #13131 Bottling Note

A single malt from the wonderful Caol Ila, distilled in February 2011 and left to rest in a single refill hogshead for eight years. April 2019 came around and Douglas Laing saw it fit to bottle the Islay whisky for the Old Particular range, with an outturn of 479 bottles at 48.4% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Burnt rubber, bonfire smoke and embers with earthy peat smoke and a splash of grape juice.

Palate: Sweet and sugary malt, fireplace ash, more smoke and a hint of lemon curd.

Finish: All of those sweet and smoky notes intertwine and linger on a long finish.
