Distilled at Coal Ila distillery in 1995 and finished in Madeira casks, this Islay single malt was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for their Private Collection range.
Nose: Sea spray and brine with rhubarb, apricot and golden sultanas.
Palate: Cracked black pepper, seaweed and digestive biscuit. Stewed red berries. Ginger and dark chocolate run through beneath the surface.
Finish: Back to sea breeze and seaweed. Hints of cocoa.
Overall: An excellent fruity, peaty Coal Ila.
