A 16 year old Caol Ila distilled in September 1996 and matured in cask 9512. This Islay whisky was bottled in February 2013 by Douglas Laing as part of their Old Malt Cask Range.
Nose: Classic Coal Ila notes of brine and beach barbecue.
Palate: Sweet peat, coastal air and a hint of cappuccino.
Finish: Fairly long with sweet smoke.
Overall: Coastal, sweet and slightly smoky, unmistakably Caol Ila.
