Canadian Club

The renowned Canadian whisky, married in white oak barrels. Canadian Club was founded by whisky mogul Hiram Walker.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is of medium-body with notes of barley sugar and aniseed, notes of cut grass and fennel, a hint of straw and a vegetal freshness. The palate is quite sweet and gentle. There are notes of winter spice and dark sugars, a touch of rum. The finish is of medium-sweetness and of medium-length.

Reviews for Canadian Club Whisky
Like a vodka......
Like a whisky flavour vodka .
Jim Beam is cheaper and better.
However the quality of Canadian Club is good : no hangover day after.
Easy drinking and nothing special I paid less than £20 but it supposed to be £10 -£12 per bottle.
Probably not bad with ginger ale or maybe on the rocks ? Not for me anyway. I like bourbon and well aged whisky.

A good value smooth and unpretentious whisky
This is a smooth unpretentious whisky. No unusual or complex flavours, not fiery or peaty. A little sweetness and wo0diness in taste. Its one of those nostalgic drinks for me, used to get it at the pubs when I thought I was a sosphisticated young man, with a splash of Canada Dry ginger in it. Its not expensive so one can't expect the nuances of a single malt, its just a reliable drinkable tot. Got it from Master of Malt as it is rarely on the shop shelves for some reason. Saved me the travelling miles trying to source it.

Good But not the Best from CC.
Excellent Whisky. I drink it neat. It or my taste buds have changed over the years.
It seems to be smoother with more oak taste but also sweeter.
I prefer the 100% Rye. But the 1858 is one of my go-to whisky's.

Nice mellow flavour
This is a great drink. I was introduced to it after my bosses father left quite a lot in the office and said take what you want. He had plenty of it and said it’s all he drank.

Now I know why, for the price you can’t beat it. It’s a great mellow flavour. No burn, just a nice easy drink.

Get some you won’t regret it, even if it is for an every day tipple.

The Best.
I started drinking Rye & Dry in Jersey in 1965....a beautiful drink. Nowadays I only have it with Canadian Club and Schweppes ginger ale and ...still a beautiful drink.

Good whisky, for serious whisky drinkers.
I cannot, for the life of me, understand anybody maligning this inexpensive whisky. It is ripe with pleasant aroma and flavour and great value for money.
Certainly, if you are happy to pay three times the price or more, you will find more sophisticated whisky, but if you want a bottle to share during an evening with your mates, I guarantee none of them will complain at being given this stuff. Good whisky and good value.

Watery and weak
Am thankful I only tried the 3cl sample. £19.29 is an expensive drain cleaner although I doubt this would have the same power as Mr Muscle.

Sweet, biscuity but no real mouth feel. Slight tingle on the tongue of ginger and cinnamon. Short finish.

May be better at higher ABV but this is even more insipid than Jura Journey

Desired Effect
Admittedly I drink for effect, not taste and this whisky certainly did not disappoint me.
