When tasting a whisky that comes from the Bunnahabhain distillery on Islay, you're expecting to taste at least some peat goodness. However, you might not be prepared for the peaty wallop you'll get from this Berry Bros. & Rudd single cask release of heavily peated 6 year old single malt.
Nose: Earthy peat smoke with hints of tobacco.
Palate: Filled with peaty notes. A little bit of pepper. It develops fruity notes if left to breathe.
Finish: A lingering peaty smokiness that lasts. Fairly drying.
Overall: Ker-pow! (or should that be "Ker-peat"?)
