Bunnahabhain 2005 #17027 Bottling Note

A 2005 vintage single malt from the Bunnahabhain distillery on the isle of Islay, independently bottled by Malts of Scotland. This was distilled using peated barley in 2005 and aged in a Sherry hogshead until 2017, when it was bottled at cask strength with an outturn of only 263 bottles. Displays a good balance of peaty richness and Sherried sweetness.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Honey-glazed ham, toasted bread with a thin layer of blackberry jam, a whiff of freshly-baked apple turnover.

Palate: Figs, more apples (slightly sharper now) and honeycomb. Peat smoke is robust and meaty.

Finish: Dry BBQ smoke balanced well with juicy red berries.
