This is a rich, sherry-matured Bunnahabhain from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range. It was distilled in December 2001 and was aged for 11 years before bottling in early 2013. This is a release of just 282 bottles.
Nose: Rich notes of barley wine, cooked fruit and honey. A hint of black olives.
Palate: Barley malt, allspice and linseed oil. Developing vanilla and the vaguest whisper of smoke.
Finish: Long finish with barley sugar and vanilla. A hint of smoke.
Overall: Beautifully sherried with a lovely spicy flavour.
