A markedly rich bottling from Gordon and MacPhail, this Bunnahabhain single malt was distilled in 1991 and offers some lovely feinty notes with hints of coffee and honey.
The nose is rich and very aromatic. There is a refined complexity lurking in the depths with notes of honeyed cigar leaf, oily walnut and dry wood. A little estery note develops, as does a Madeira character with stewed fruit and a jammy chewiness. A subtle bitumen note is present but very faint. The palate is sweet and rich. Mocchaccino and hazelnut spread with a little honeyed almond and aniseed. The finish is long and thick with beautiful sweetness. More aniseed is apparent with floral honey.
