Nose: Fresh, sweet. Seaweed, malt.

Finish: Sherried, mochaccino, herbal, balanced salty tang.

What single malt whisky is all about; one of the best, in my personal experience. Smoother than other 15 year-olds (sorry, that sounded a bit wrong!), and with a lovely depth of flavour that turns to a peppery finish. Really, really lovely stuff if you like the iodine/seaweed/sea-salt kind of smells and flavours. Truly unique.

Bunnahabhain is a delightful whisky and a good addition to the cupboard. It arrived earlier than expected and well packed. Free enamel mug was a real bonus, cheers and swell done guys.

Unfortunately I just didn't have the experience of other reviewers. Drunk the bottle but it didn't open up. I found it limited, doesn't have the depth of other offerings. This isn't a, bad whisky but, for me, is very very average. Disappointed that I don't get it :-(

Absolute belter. I'm usually an "upper end of supermarket whiskies" man: Laphroaig 10, Old Pulteney 12, seaweed & aeons & whatever whatever, Glenlivet 12. This one is a cut above - depth and length are what I'd expect from a £60 bottle. Big sherry flavours but without the acetone headache-inducing intensity of the sherry monsters. Just rich, mellow lovely stuff.

Nosing : sherry , dried fruit , Christmas cake , marzipan, dark chocolate and mocha. Palate : Leathery , oiley , rich , slightly North African spice and maritime notes. Finish : Long , oak and woody , Briney and burnt toast . Marks out of 100 . Enjoyable 91.

Not much I can add that hasn't already been said about how good this is. I always have a bottle of this on the shelf and always will.

My favourite Islay whisky. The saltiness and sherry notes combine beautifully

Basically, I’m a fan of peat and I purchased this as it’s an Islay, but I failed to read the clearly stated fact that this is non peated. But wow, I wasn’t disappointed, this is simply phenomenal. For it’s price I can’t think of anything comparable. So much richness and complexity. On the non peated front I also have have a Aberlour 15 year in the cupboard but it doesn’t come close to this despite being generally £10-£15 more expensive. I can see this becoming a regular.
